The 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualification is an upcoming international men's under-20 football competition organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament is scheduled to be held from 25 August to 6 September 2026 to determine the participating teams for the 2027 AFC U-20 Asian Cup.

The AFC has introduced a revised competition structure designed to enhance competitive balance and ensure more frequent high-intensity matches between teams of comparable technical levels. This new format is organized into two primary stages

Qualification Phase

The Qualification Phase features thirty-two (32) participating teams divided into eight groups of four teams each. In this stage, the competitive progression is based on the following criteria:

All eight group winners and the seven best-performing runners-up advance to the next round.

The lowest-ranked teams from each group face relegation to the Development Phase.

Development Phase

The Development Phase serves as a secondary tier focusing on technical growth for up to fourteen (14) teams. This stage provides a pathway for emerging teams to progress within the AFC structure:

Teams with the highest performance in this phase earn promotion to the Qualification Phase for the subsequent edition.
